Tottenham’s latest Premier League match saw them losing 1-0 against Arsenal and they now are 7 points behind the 4th place team Manchester City. It’s their 2nd consecutive defeat as they had already suffered a 4-0 defeat against Chelsea.
The head coach of the club, Tim Sherwood stated that in order for him to succeed with Tottenham, he is going to need time.
“The building process has to start in pre-season. Liverpool took a step back to move forwards. It requires patience, whether Spurs want to do that I don’t know. Whether they want me to be the person to do it remains to be seen.” Sherwood said.
Andre Villas-Boas was sacked from his coaching role of Tottenham and Tim Sherwood was appointed to replace him on December of 2013. He enjoyed a fairly successful start of his coaching career as he only lost 3 matches of his first 12 encounters but after losing against Arsenal, Norwich City and Chelsea they have dropped valuable points which have made them unable of climbing any higher in the Premier League.
Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky scored the only goal of the match during their encounter against Tottenham as he found the back of the net as early as the 2nd minute and Tim Sherwood’s men tried to get back in the game with Adebayor being the main danger man of Tottenham but they just couldn’t find the equalizer.
When the match concluded, Sherwood stated that Tottenham outplayed Arsenal but failed on actually scoring.
“We were better than them. I thought we played well; we created chances, played on the front foot and defended together. I think the result for Arsenal is going to paper over a lot of cracks. They were outplayed today and they’ve got to admit that. We’ve outplayed Arsenal and they’re title contenders.” Sherwood said.
